Festival in Inle

The greatest event is the celebration of the Phaung Daw Oo buddha statues peregrination festival.

Once in every year, during the seventh month of myanmar calendar year, ( mostly September/ October) the inthas use to place the Phaung Daw Oo buddha statues on a decorated royal barge surrounded by canoes and power boats for the processing around the inle lake.

At that time, you can see the inthas' traditional custom and the unique leg-rowing competition.
